Key Policies

• Next-day reservations: must be completed by 6:00 p.m. the day before your trip. Availability is limited — book early to secure your private launch.
• Waivers: Each adult participant must complete their own waiver. Adults cannot be covered under another adult’s waiver.
• Minors: All minors may be included under a single adult’s waiver, provided that adult is the parent or legal guardian and accepts full responsibility for each listed minor.
• Waiver completion required: All required waivers must be fully completed before launch information is provided.
• Access details: Launch location and address are released only after every required waiver has been received and approved.
• By reservation only. Rentals available Mondays & Tuesdays.
• Weight limits: Single up to 275 lbs; Tandem combined up to 450 lbs.
• BYO vessels: No — we do not allow personal vessels to launch from our private dock.
• Refunds: Cancellations must be made at least 48 hours in advance so we can attempt to fill the slot.
• Weather: Silver Springs Kayak & Fishing Rentals may cancel or reschedule your booking in the event of severe weather, including heavy rain or lightning. If we determine that conditions are unsafe, we will cancel the booking on our end and work with you to reschedule or issue a refund. However, if we advise against going out due to expected inclement weather and you choose to proceed anyway, your adventure is considered to have begun, and no refunds will be issued once you launch.
• Late returns: $20 every 30 minutes late per person, automatically charged to the card on file.
• Lost/Missing/Damaged gear: All rental items (including dry bag, waterproof phone case, paddles, PFDs, etc.) must be returned in the condition received. Replacement or repair fees — including missing items — will be automatically charged to the card on file.
• Fishing license: Required by Florida law if you plan to fish.
• Drugs & alcohol: It is illegal to operate a kayak or any other vessel while under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Guests who appear impaired will not be allowed to launch, and no refunds will be issued.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does North Lake have public access?

No. North Lake has no public boat ramp, and access is private and limited only to residents. That means extremely calm waters, very low fishing pressure, and a peaceful escape far from the crowds. This is why our kayaks are available by reservation only.

Can I bring my own kayak or canoe?

No. Launch access is reserved for our rental vessels only.

When do I get the exact address?

After submitting your booking and completing the corresponding waivers we will send the precise launch location and parking details. This keeps our private launch safe and guests only.

Is assistance available at launch?

Yes — basic assistance is available upon request, but guests should be comfortable walking on uneven ground and self-entering a kayak.

Are restrooms available at the launch site?

There are no restrooms on site, so please plan ahead and use facilities before arriving.

What if the weather looks bad?

We monitor conditions. If we determine it’s unsafe, we’ll work with you to reschedule or refund per policy.

Do you provide life vests?

Yes, USCG-approved PFDs are included for every renter, with sizes available for both kids and adults.

Can I fish from the kayak?

Absolutely. Bring your own gear or rent a pole. A valid Florida fishing license is required.

Are there alligators in these waters?

Yes. These waters are known alligator habitats, as is common throughout Florida. While attacks are extremely rare, swimming or wading is strongly discouraged, and all visitors should remain alert and respectful of wildlife.
